Move to the MAAC
-Today marks the first ever games that MU baseball will play as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. On December 14, 2012, Monmouth Athletics accepted an invitation to join the league. MAAC baseball plays a three-game series on the weekend, with a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday. Canisius won the league last year and was selected to repeat in the conference Preseason Coaches Poll, with MU gaining second place votes in it's inaugural MAAC poll. 18 other MU teams began MAAC play this year.

Turning Two
-As of the last NCAA statistical update, MU was tenth in the nation in double plays turned per game. The Hawks have turned 14 in 14 games this year, including four in one game at Navy on 3/8. MU pitchers have forced 13 ground ball double plays, including eight rolled up by T.J. Hunt. The biggest DP of the year came on opening night at FAU, when Andrew McGee got a game-ending 6-4-3 to earn the complete game W. MU's first outs of the season came that same night on a lineout that Danny Avella turned into two on the L3.

MU Returns to Action
-The Hawks return to action tomorrow in the series finale against the Marist Red Foxes. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m. at the MU Baseball Field. The game will be streamed live in high-definition on HawkVision on GoMUHawks.com. Live stats are also available at GoMUHawks.com.
