The Monmouth University women’s basketball team returns to action Thursday when it plays host to Wagner. The Hawks are coming off a tough 64-55 loss to Yale in their season opener on Saturday. Monmouth jumped out to a 13-point lead early in the second half with a 13-0 run going back to the end of first half. But Yale countered with a 15-2 run of their own to tie the game and eventually separated with another 12-0 run near the end of regulation. Wagner fell to nationally-ranked No. 7 Kentucky at home Sunday, 96-57. Freshman Jasmine Nwajei led the Seahawks with 19 points.
