MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Junior Brady Goodling (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) fired a two-over-par 72 to earn his first career medalist honors, Monday afternoon at the Iona Quad Match held at the par-70, 6,612 yard Spring Brook Country Club. As a team, the Blue and White carded a 311 to earn third overall to cap off its fourth round in the last four days.
Goodling notched a 36 on both the front and the back nine to match his season-low round and earn his sixth career top-five result. Fresh off his career best 54-hole score of 219 at the Rutgers Invitational, Kyle Deisher (Montgomery, Pa./Montgomery Area) continued his strong start to the fall season with a 77 and a share of eighth place. Corey Carrick (Howell, N.J./Howell) and Colin Buckley (Duxbury, Mass./Boston College H.S.) both shot 81 on the afternoon, while freshman Jesse Hazam (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) rounded out MU’s lineup with a 94.
Fairleigh Dickinson won the overall event, registering a 306, two strokes ahead of Iona, while Saint Peter’s finished two strokes behind the Hawks.
Monmouth returns to action next weekend, September27-28, as it travels to Egg Harbor Township, N.J. for the ECAC Championship.
