WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.- Monmouth University senior quarterback Kyle Frazier (Gaithersburg, Md./Damascus) has been invited to participate in next week’s minicamp with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League.

“This is a dream come true to be able to get a shot like this,” said Frazier on Tuesday. ”It’s something that I’ve always wanted to be able to do and I’m just one step closer to doing it. I’m kind of right now just a little shocked, but I’m ready to go.”

Frazier had his finest season statistically as a senior in2012, leading the Northeast Conference in passing yards per game at 243.1. He also topped the conference in total offense, putting up over 266 yards per contest. His 133.2 pass efficiency rating in 2012 ranked second in the NEC and Monmouth’s offense led the league in passing offense with close to 250 yards per game. Frazier guided the Hawks to a conference-best 408 yards per contest and 29.4 points per game, good enough for second in the NEC.

“We are very happy that Kyle has this opportunity with the Cleveland Browns,” said MU Head Coach Kevin Callahan. “He has worked extremely hard to prepare himself for this day, and he is deserving of this opportunity."

When all was said and done, Frazier set the single season record for passing attempts, completions, yardage and completion percentage. Frazier left Monmouth ranked in the top three in every career passing statistic, including first in completions and attempts and second in yardage, passing efficiency and completion percentage.

Frazier, who graduated in May of 2012 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in homeland security at Monmouth, will leave for Cleveland next week.
