VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Monmouth University men's tennis team completed play at the Villanova Invitational this past weekend, finishing in third place overall, with rookie Ramy Bekhiet (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) leading the way with three singles wins to go along with a trio of doubles victories.

Freddy Marcinkowski (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) captured wins in two singles matches, while rookies Brant Switzler (Stockton, N.J./Hunterdon Central) and Jason Prezant (Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills) each claimed a victory against a Villanova opponent.

Bekhiet downed Franklin and Marshall's Samuel Stone, 6-2, 6-0, before coming from behind to defeat 'Nova's Tim Abbracciamento, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.  The rookie earned his final singles victory of the weekend, edging the Wildcats' Kelly Donaldson, 3-6, 6-0, 10-2.  Marcinkowski downed Villanova's Michael Rosengren, 6-4, 6-3, and followed up by cruising past Franklin and Marshall's Ross Silverberg, 6-1, 6-4.

Switzler held off the Diplomats' Alec Tunner, 6-4, 1-6, 6-1, while Prezant downed Hamza Patudi, also of Franklin and Marshall, 7-5, 6-1.

In doubles play, the tandem of Marcinkowski and Bekhiet captured three victories for the Blue and White.  The duo downed Geoffrey Brennan and Stone of Franklin and Marshall, 8-5, and Villanova's teams of Rosengren and Abbracciamento and Donaldson and Thomas O'Brien, 8-4, respectively.  Switzler and Prezant earned a pair of wins on the doubles side, escaping their match with Pataudi and Tunner victorious, 9-7, and downing 'Nova's Rosengren and Kyle Grandin, 8-4.

The Hawks return to the Keystone State next weekend to participate in Saint Joseph's Invitational.
