WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - The Monmouth University women's soccer program will celebrate "Christie Rampone Day", on Sunday, October 5, on The Great Lawn, when the Hawks take on FDU at noon. In honor of Monmouth alum, Christie Rampone, the United States National Team Captain, the Blue and White will make a pregame presentation, and have the gold-medal winner as an honorary captain.
"We are very excited to have Christie on campus on October 5th," said head coach Krissy Turner. "We are proud of her many accomplishments and honored to be able to recognize her at one of our games."
Rampone, who has been a member of the U.S. National Team since 1997, appeared on campus last season during her induction into the Monmouth University Athletic Hall of Fame, and witnessed the Hawks' victory in the Northeast Conference Championship game.
"Christie Rampone Day" will be part of the 2008 Hall of Fame weekend on the West Long Branch campus. Rampone, who was inducted into the Monmouth University Athletic Hall of Fame last November, will be on hand to sign autographs for fans, following the game.
