Welcome to the web site of the Monmouth University Sailing Team.
The Monmouth University intercollegiate sailing team is open to all full time Monmouth University students. Monmouth is an Associate member of the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA), one of seven regional conferences of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association of North America (ICSA). With 43 schools and a geographical territory extending from Canada to Virginia, MAISA is one of the most competitive conferences in the country.
Monmouth has a fleet of five Flying Junior sailboats. Our home port is Shrewsbury Sailing and Yacht Club on the Shrewsbury River a five minute drive from the Monmouth University campus. We attend regattas most week ends in the fall and spring seasons. Practices are held 2-3 days a week.
Monmouth University is located less than 1 mile from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, less than 4 miles to our sailing center and 1 hour from New York City. It is in an area known for some of the best sailing on the east coast. This beatiful campus is clustered around historic mansions and has been featured in movies. With the strong support of the University, we are striving to be the premier sailing program in the Intercollegiate Sailing Association. Coupled with a strong academic program, Monmouth University is a great place for the college experience.
